How to Get out of Debt Fast

July 3rd, 2011 No comments

We all see the different ads on the internet, TV and radio all saying that you can get the life that you want even though you are in debt.  You can see what the debts are and trying to do something to get rid of the debt.  Sometimes people won’t ever be able to get rid of the debt we are in because people will have to struggle to get out of debt though for many people they cannot do it and for others there were be people that can get out of debt but there are many things that you could do to get out of the red zone once more.

What you are going to have to do is to know the real extent of the debt; you need to know how much debt you are in and find everything that can tell you that.  Go to the bank and ask for your bank statements and find credit cards and every other debt that you have accumulated over the past few years which are still active.

You are going to have to know what money you can pay towards the debt at the end of every month; you need to know what the total income in and find out what is coming in and what you are going to have to pay back out again.  That is going to include utility, food, and all of the debts and other bills but remember you are going to have to be able to put all of the money possible towards the debt.

If you can put any money towards the debt by getting a second job or working a few extra hours each day; that would be a good idea if you can work extra hours to add towards the income.

You are going to have to budget for everything like your household expenses and the debt so that you can see which the lowest debts are and which you can pay back first.

You are going to have to cut down on very expense possible so that anything that you do buy that are too expensive or are overboard will have to be cut to help put the money towards the expenses.

If you can try saving on the food by using coupons if possible or even buying food that you really will eat and need and not cakes and junk food that you might not eat.  You might be able to grow some plants and vegetables in your garden which will save on the money.

You are going to have to put any money that you have left over from bonuses or any other income to put towards the debt.  You could try setting up an emergency fund so that if there are any accidents or times when you find yourself in a bad way and have to pay a lot of money for hospital bills then instead of getting into debt, you have the emergency fund.

Tips & Warnings

  • You should try getting a second job for a few hours so that extra money brought in can be put towards the debt.
  • If possible try to sell things that you don’t need or want anymore.
  • Any loans on a car should maybe be sold to cover the debt.
