Debt Reduction Plan

If you have got yourself into debt then you are really going to have only two real options; you will have the option of getting rid of your credit cards and the second will be to keep putting all of your money to the debt.  You however are going to need something to help you to know what you are bringing in and where your money is really going.  That is why you need to create yourself a debt reduction plan.

What you need to do firstly will be to gather up the credit cards that you have;  get a piece of paper and make a column on which credit card you have and then another with the price you owe.  Another with the limit on the credit card and the last on the interest rate on your credit cards.

The next step will be to look at the list and find out which amount that you can really pay back now and not let the interest rates up.  If you can then pay that one off now so now you have got one less debt to worry about; if you can afford to pay it off now then do so.

What you could do is to call your credit card company up and see if you could get lower rates and it may be possible that you could get this on your cards when you have been repaying your credit card debts at the end of the month.

Try consolidation, this can really help to get rid or reduce some of the debt onto a card which is going to have a low rate.

Even when you are paying off the debts then you must stop using the credit cards because this will be a way in which you can stop adding the amount of debt to you.  Put them in a place that you can’t get to them or even cut them up to stop yourself using them altogether.

What you are going to have to do is to get yourself a personal budget; this is easy to do just know what you are making each month and what you have to spend on any expenses.  You also have to think about what you are buying that you don’t necessarily need to buy and remember what you are spending on your total debts for your credit cards.

The truth is when you know what you can cut out for buying unnecessary things then you can see what you are saving up so that you can then once that debt is written off then you can put that money towards another debt.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you can try getting a hold of all of your credit cards and put them into a place which you won’t get to them easily.  A safe deposit box even.
  • You should try stop using all of these cards as soon as you see any debt accumulating.
